East Village: La Vie hosts a holiday-cookie bake-off and swap to benefit the Lower Eastside Girls Club this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees will be able to purchase cookies from 25 different chefs for between 50 cents and two dollars. Elmhurst: Patacon Pisao is currently serving hallacas, a special holiday Venezuelan tamale. For $10, customers get a hallaca, filled with beef, pork, olives, raisins, along with chicken salad, and pan de jamón. [World’s Fare/Edible Queens]
