We've already told you where to dine for Christmas and New Year's, but our in-boxes, Twitter feeds — and heads — continue to explode with holiday menus. The other night, Montreal-style deli Mile End tweeted that it's taking reservations for a "traditional Jewish Christmas": "Egg drop soup, tongue buns, crispy duck, etc. It's going to be fun." Sounds like that might just beat Chinese food and a movie!
If all you want for Christmas is some Lone Star flavor, Hill Country is offering bone-in hams "smoked low and slow over post oak imported from Texas," a press release informs us. You can order those alone, or as "feast" packages with jalapeño cornbread, sides, and pies until December 30. And since we all know this is the year of the pig, you might consider ordering DeBragga's roast crown of pork, available only around the holidays and best served stuffed with porcini-pork sausage. Oink, oink.
