The Chain Gang

Cheeburger Cheeburger Is the Latest Burger Chain to Hit Brooklyn

Smashburger isn’t the only chain invading Brooklyn: Brownstowner notices that the borough is about to get its first location of the Florida-based Cheeburger Cheeburger, in the former Miracle Grill space (there are other locations in Staten Island, Forest Hills, and at JFK). To refresh your memory, this is the patty that Josh Ozersky called “sick making”: “cold, stiff, scarred, seared, inert, grey, tasteless, dry, banal — and then there’s this big hideous piece of unmelted welfare cheese.” But Josh Perlow seemed okay with the fifties decor and beer-battered onion rings and the waffle sundaes when he tried them in East Rutherford. And as Feisty Foodie points out, you get your picture taken with a giant foam burger if you finish the one-pounder in one sitting. Have fun with that, Park Slope!
