Stoned Crow Dies; Fedora Rises From Ashes

A call to the Stoned Crow confirms that, as promised, the seventeen-year-old beer-and-burger den has closed owing to a rent hike. Meanwhile, another West Village fixture, Fedora, is set to reopen on Wednesday (update: Thursday is the new opening day), and Feast got a look at the interior now that new owner Gabriel Stulman has dusted off the cobwebs and extended the original bar. Au Pied de Cochon alumnus Mehdi Brunet-Benkritly promises a classic egg in a hole with Spanish-style ragout, and we’re also introduced to Stulman’s wife — not that Fedora’s shoes will ever be filled, but don’t these two look like a regular Joe Doe and Jill Doe?
