A co-owner of Tarallucci e Vino, Luca Di Pietro, tells us hell open a third location of the Italian wine and espresso bar sometime around January 19. This one will be on the Upper West Side, at 475 Columbus Avenue, near 83rd Street. Ive been living up there, he says, and its been very hard for me to find a good cappuccino and a good natural glass of wine wine that tastes like wine and isnt oaky and super concentrated. So later this month hell open a twenty-seat space (with an additional fourteen seats around the bar) thatll serve a counter-service breakfast in the morning (as usual, all baked goods will be made from scratch, on location) and will turn into a wine bar at night. The wine list (featuring 25 varieties by the glass) will boast mostly small producers, and the menu of assaggi (Italian tapas, essentially) will not be run-of-the-mill of every wine bar in the city, promises Di Pietro. Check back here for an early look at the menu.
