From Raking In the Clams to Growing Oysters

In 2009 Luke Holden flew the finance-world coop to open Luke's Lobster, now on its third location. And here's another ambitious twentysomething who made the transition from banking culture to aquaculture: 25-year-old Jeff Northrop, who this past summer started New York Oyster Co. and has already seen his mollusks rise to the top of those glittering seafood plateaus at Balthazar, along with 30-odd other places including Daniel and Lavo. Now, if he can crack the oyster pan-roast market, he'll know he's achieved greatness.
