If you’re a Manhattanite of the increasingly contentious mind that it’s not worth riding a subway or crossing a bridge to eat dinner, the grand-opening party on February 12 of Cobble Hill’s 61 Local might change your mind. 61’s owner, Dave Liatti, built the rustically handsome, high-ceilinged, communal-tabled “public house” with local food dudes in mind. “I see 61 as a platform to highlight and promote talented local artisans in the community and foster meaningful relationships,” says the designer and engineer, who has in the past assisted local start-ups like Sixpoint Craft Ales, Kelso, SCRATCHbread, and Cut Brooklyn on various projects. They’re among the artisans he’s chosen to celebrate at his friendly new bar, and they'll will be in attendance opening night to mingle with their presumably adoring public, along with folks from Salvatore Bklyn, Dickson’s Farmstand Meats, Brooklyn Cured, Anarchy in a Jar, KBBK Kombucha, and Red Hook Winery. If this roundup of Kings County talent doesn’t silence the Brooklyn naysayers, nothing will.

Take a look at the pub’s menu, assembled by Chris Munsey, formerly of Murray’s Cheese.
