First Look at the Ember Room and Its Menu by Todd English and Ian Chalermkittichai

The Post reported today that the opening party for the Ember Room was so packed that invitees had to wait outside while Todd English made the rounds with 27-year-old girlfriend Candice Sonneman (guess they really did kiss and make up after that reported tiff the other week). But never mind all that — on Monday, you won’t have to get past any rope-tenders to get in, because English’s “American-Asian barbecue” project with Ian Chalermkittichai will finally be open to the public. Ace Watanasuparp and Chatchai “Chai” Huadwattana of Chace Restaurant Group (OBAO, Spot Dessert Bar, and Reserve Wine Bar) hired Roy Nachum (1 Oak, etc.) to design the space, and the focus is on an open kitchen where you can watch cooks (probably not English and Chalermkittichai, since they’re only consultants) work a couple of stone woks as well as an oven custom-built with clay bricks, volcanic rock, and natural stone.
