No sooner did the second Kasa location shutter, but Nick Fasanella of Nick’s Crispy Tacos (Broadway and Polk) fame has swooped in to claim it. Fasanella, who’s consulting chef at Tortilla Heights and recently opened the Taco Shop at Underdogs Sports Bar (1824 Irving St.), plans to open Tacko (pronounced “taco”) by May, as the Chron is reporting. He’ll continue doing American-ized tacos but with a New England theme (we’re guessing fried clams?). The name, as it happens makes a reference to the airport code for Nantucket (ACK) where Fasanella plans to open another branch, and the decor will reflect the theme too. “I just want to separate myself from every other taqueria,” he says, and by that we suppose he’s referring to the nearby Tacolicious?
