Souvlaki GR’s brick-and-mortar location opened for lunch today, exactly eight months after the food truck rolled out last August. As you can see in our slideshow, the 40-seat interior evokes a simple Mediterranean-side eatery, with floors painted to look like stones, a classic white-and-blue color scheme, and even a traditional Greek periptero, the corner newsstands you find all over. (Unfortunately, nothing is for sale, co-founder Abby Sierros tells us: “We’re going to be battling people trying to grab the candy,” she laughs.) There’s take-out, catering, and coming soon, delivery; for now, hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. You can see the menu, with its added offerings of salads and sweets, here. The other big addition is beer and wine, including domestic and Greek beers, and four Greek wines.
