According to The Wall Street Journal, a Manhattan lawyer went to the trouble of filing a formal complaint with the New York Department of Consumer Affairs when Je’Bon rounded his bill up to $24, cheating him out of four cents. Apparently Je’bon isn’t the only restaurant that rounds down (and sometimes accidentally up) by the nickel in order to avoid dealing with those ever-pesky pennies — Hung Ry even rounds up or down to the nearest dollar.
