Now that everyone’s done stressin’ about Prime 6, a couple of other establishments near the Barclays Center are catching heat. For one, Scott Alling of Social Eatz is hoping to open Player’s Gastro Pub and Sportsbar at Pacific and Flatbush, with food from Angelo Sosa as well as Mamoun’s. According to the Park Slope Patch, which had previously reported that the space’s landlord is seeking “’Dave and Busters’ type entertainment,” Alling has had to reassure neighbors that there won’t be dancing and the place won’t be open past 2 a.m. Meanwhile, right next to the address, a new eatery called Machavelle Sports Bar & Lounge managed to open without apparently going through the community board (Machiavellian indeed!), and neighbors don’t like the fact that it has tinted windows: “It’s a mystery with the windows all dark,” says a neighbor who considers the place “loud and trashy”: “It makes you wonder what’s going on in there.” Maybe go in, buy a beer, and find out?
