We knew that the microchain’s days were numbered when both the New York and Los Angeles locations suddenly shut their doors, but we nevertheless felt a pang of melancholy this morning when we read that the final remaining Soul Daddy restaurant — this one in the Mall of America — has been closed. Soul Daddy, you’ll recall, was the restaurant that won the one and only season of America’s Next Great Restaurant. We can only hope that Jamawn Woods, the contestant whose concept birthed Soul Daddy, will move on to bigger and better things. We’re rooting for you, Jamawn! [Business Journal]
