Christina Hendricks Knows a Thing or Two About Greek Food

When we bumped into Christina Hendricks at a pre–Father’s Day Johnnie Walker whiskey tasting last night, we wanted to know if she thought Grub Street maybe had a hand in helping her finally land that guest spot on Top Chef Masters. “I hope so! I was putting the word out there,” she told us. Then again, even before our first chat with her, it was no secret that the Mad Men star and her husband, actor Geoffrey Arend, both love to cook — Hendricks even tells us that they traditionally kick off summer with a Greek night: “I love, love, love, love Greek food, and Geoffrey does a really amazing homemade gyro on a rotisserie. So he makes a wonderful gyro, and I make stuffed grape leaves, then I’ll do tsatsiki and baba ghannouj and taramosalata. And we do grilled octopus. We like to do a real Greek night.” But it sounds like grilling season will be cut a bit short for the actress — she’s due back on set for the new season of Mad Men next month.
