Reopenings

PKNY Looking Forward to a Problem-Free Future

Grub Street just got off the phone with PKNY’s Richie Boccato, who cleared up the reason for last week’s shutdown: an expired Health Department operating permit. “I think that really was just a technicality resulting from their observation upon our last inspection that our permit was set to expire,” Boccato told us. The partner said the Department showed up Wednesday night around midnight to close the bar and that he renewed the permit the very next day, allowing PKNY to reopen Thursday night. “We only lost about 2.5 hours of business,” he said. Boccato also mentioned he’s launching a happy hour in the near future, so we’ll share those details when we have them. Hopefully, it will be the only news we have to report for the beleaguered-but-excellent bar from here on out.
