World Financial Center Plans Include Six Restaurants and a Gourmet Megamarket

This is only the start.
This is only the start.

Between that Death & Co. project, the Milk Street Café, and plans just released for the World Financial Center, it seems it should be possible to get a decent bite in the financial district sometime soon. Of course, vendors like Ed’s Lobster Bar, Fatty Snack, and that farmers’ market are already operating on the financial center plaza, but Diner’s Journal brings news that the ground zero development will house a “a 25,000-square-foot marketplace abundant with fresh produce, meat, cheese, bread and coffee, not to mention wines.” Also: six sit-down restaurants and fifteen “casual-dining outlets” overlooking the Hudson. Construction is slated to begin in October and wrap up in 2013, though you know how those things go. Restaurateurs, start your bidding! [Diner’s Journal/NYT]
