Turns Out Marion Nestle Helped Out With That HuffPo Op-Ed After All

Oops! After a piece about the proposed ban on using food stamps for sugar-laden drinks was published with Marion Nestle’s byline (co-authored with Harlem Children’s Zone CEO Geoffrey Canada) over the weekend, the prolific nutrition, health, and food policy advocate and writer found herself being congratulated by colleagues for her stance. However, Nestle didn’t recall writing the piece. But in a new blog post on her site, Nestle explains she had read and reviewed the op-ed a few months ago; when it was initially rejected by the Times, she “promptly forgot about it.” [Food Politics, Earlier]
