Cupcakes, and they don’t stop: Grub Street learns that three-year-old East Village mini-cake purveyor Butter Lane has opened a shop in Park Slope. Along with the standard flavors, there’s the Elvis (banana cake with peanut butter frosting and a marshmallow garnish), cake pops (iced balls of cake served on a stick), and hard-to-find Blue Bell Ice Cream in flavors such as blackberry cobbler and mint chocolate chip. This part of Brooklyn seems like a wise move to us: If adults have moved on to doughnuts, at least the stroller set will probably always clamor for cupcakes.
