Beware of bad salmon.

The Chicago-based company Vita Food is recalling over 8,000 packages of smoked salmon, specifically its classic premium sliced smoked Atlantic salmon, because of possible contamination. CNN says the fish could contain Listeria Monocytogenes, “which can cause fatal infections to people with weakened immune systems, children and the elderly.” The company says the salmon was sold all over the country, so now would be a good time to check in with your fridge and freezer.
