Walden Comes to Williamsburg

Where transcendentalism and foodies intersect.
Where transcendentalism and foodies intersect.

On our way home from the Noorman’s Kil opening party last night in Williamsburg (lots of delicious grilled cheese and flanneled smokers), Grub Street literally stumbled into a restaurant in the works over at the old Baba space on Lorimer. We reported it out a little bit (okay, we broke in) and met the new owners, who said the place is being totally redone, renamed Walden, and reappointed with “a great chef” come fall. “As in Thoreau,” the owner reminded us. Come on, give us some credit; we only had half of that not-your-father’s-whiskey-tini thing beforehand!
