Last week, we mentioned that Standard hotelier Andre Balazs had applied for a liquor-license transfer at the Cooper Square Hotel, and today DNA Info has it that he's received initial approval. However, "were not looking for another Standard Hotel, Balazs's lawyer told CB 3 last night, which hopefully means no velvet ropes (though those cute coordinated uniforms wouldn't be a bad thing). Balazs did mention that he wants to revamp the "theme" of the nightlife operations, as well as the cuisine, though he told DNA Info he doesn't have plans to touch the Trilby for now.
