Anyone who has spent any significant amount of time in restaurants knows that the people who work there tend to be heavy smokers. (To say nothing of the cocaine. Oh, the cocaine!) Anyway, now the Centers for Disease Control has gone and made it official, with a study. They find that people who work in mining, construction, and food service are among the heaviest smokers compared to people in other professions (people in education services and "library occupation" are among the lowest — squares). But let's be clear: The study is about smoking cigarettes. We suppose they could have done a study about smoking, um, other things, but even New York Times readers know that every chef out there smokes weed. [CDC via WP]
