Free House Shots at Teqa; Family Recipe Officially Open

Chelsea: A new lunch menu and a new “user-friendly” wine list are headed to Socarrat this week. A key added to each menu will help guests pair their paella with the appropriate wine. [Grub Street]
Everywhere: In the mood for an inside-baseball tour of New York culinary destinations? Consider booking reservations for one of four all-day food tours sponsored by the James Beard Foundation and Karp Resources. Flatiron District: Both A Voce locations (Madison Square Park and Columbus Circle) will offer a special off-menu appetizer each weekend: Burrata con tartufi bianchi. One crate of burrata per week, per store, will be shipped straight from Puglia, ready to be garnished with extra-virgin olive oil and white truffle shavings. Get it before it’s gone!
Harlem: Bunny chow, fried yard bird nuggets with atjar, and pop cake fries with spicy mayo will all be on hand when Red Rooster Harlem hosts a South African Wine Night at 6:30 p.m. on September 26. [Grub Street]
Kips Bay: Teqa is kicking off the fall season with a host of daily specials. On Sundays, all beers are $5 and all taco orders are $10. You can snag a mini margarita flight sampler for $9 or regular margaritas for $8 on Mondays, and on Tuesdays, free house shots! [Grub Street]
Little Italy: Ellabess, now open in the Nolitan hotel, will launch a weekday happy hour starting Monday, September 26. House cocktails, beer, and items off the lounge menu will be available for 50 percent off from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. [Grub Street]

The New Amsterdam Market at South Street will host Taste of the Marcellus, an event highlighting food producers and ingredients from the Marcellus Shale region of lower New York and Pennsylvania, on September 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will provide information on the effects of natural gas fracking in farmland areas alongside treats prepared by chefs from Print, Jimmy’s #43, and Early Bird Cookery. Sutton Place: Pino Luongo, the restaurateur behind Centolire, is back with his first new restaurant in almost a decade. Morso, set to open September 30 at 420 East 59th Street, will offer Southern Italian and Mediterranean dishes in large (tutto) and small (morso) portions. [Feed/TONY]
Upper West Side: A limited number of tickets are still available for the 300-seat Landmark Feast communal dinner on September 25. Hosted by Outstanding in the Field at the Natural History Museum’s Arthur Ross Terrace, the dinner will include locally sourced food prepared by chefs from the Upper West Side.
