Alto’s wine racks will be replaced with new ones.

As rumored in June, the Connecticut-based upscale Italian restaurant Valbella will replace the former home of Alto, which closed abruptly in March owing to “unforeseen circumstances.” An employee at the restaurant’s meatpacking district location confirms the new Valbella is shooting for a late October opening and will definitely open “before the holidays.” The multilevel space is expected to feature a sprawl of wine racks and a private chef’s table.
