Around this time last year, there were rumors of a wee rivalry between the Schnipper’s Quality Kitchen folk and team Danny Meyer, when Shake Shack Times Square opened just down the street from the SQK. Today, Schnipper’s gives Shake Shack a taste of their own … say … milkshake, as its Flatiron location opens right on Madison Square Park. SQK serves old-fashioned American food (with Pat LaFrieda–sourced burgers from $4.50 to $8.50). So the prices are comparable to Shake Shack, and the quality is not too shabby. Good luck!
