As suspected, Iacopo Falai’s plans to open a Clinton Street trattoria are finito. Instead, a Yunnan Chinese restaurant, seemingly the second of its kind in NYC, will open at 79 Clinton Street, per the Lo-Down. The blog tracked down the restaurant’s owner, Erica Chou, who divulged that she hopes to open in early 2012 and might serve dishes like “jasmine stir-fry with egg and tea-smoked duck.”

Also of note: Mysteriously closed Travertine seems at last to have given up. Bowery Boogie learns that a juice bar with designs on the space, “tentatively called Kenmare Juicebar,” made its way onto Community Board 2’s agenda. No word on whether the juice joint will hang onto Travertine’s imposing stone facade or clubby basement lounge.
