Massimiliano Nanni helped make Bed-Stuy a destination for authentic pizza Napolitana with Saraghina (he's since sold his share), and now the chef will open Celestino in a couple of weeks, assuming the Health Department gives the go-ahead. This time, seafood is the focus, and when the restaurant opens the streamlined menu will offer three appetizers, three pastas, and three fishes daily, "so we can figure out what people like," Nanni says. Think a simply grilled fish of the day, pasta in lemon sauce with shrimp, and a few non-seafood dishes, like meatballs in sauce, for the kids. Since the menu stretches around the Mediterranean, a Moroccan influence will be evident in some couscous dishes as well. The 40-seat space (with twenty outdoor spots for warm months) is decorated sparely with nautical knickknacks, furthering the seafaring theme. See that and some food in our slideshow.
