Anyone who’s lived in Brooklyn Heights knows that Montero’s Bar and Grill on Atlantic Avenue is legit — and that Pilar Montero, who opened the bar as a stomping ground for tired and lonely longshoremen in 1947, and who famously served a mean paella, was at the heart of it.
