When that brawl erupted last spring over spaghetti-eating on the train, the MTA raised the idea of a food ban, but in typical fashion got nowhere. Now, however, if a proposed measure by State Senator Bill Perkins goes through, subway scarfers may have to pay a $250 fine, CBS reports. Perkins’s main goal isn’t reducing train violence, but rather, rats: “You feed them, you breed them,” he told CBS, making a pretty valid point. While Perkins is at it, maybe he can outlaw stinky foods in public places, like they do in Asia. [CBS]
