The wait is over. At long last, Alla Spina opens to the public tonight at five o’clock. Undoubtedly the most highly anticipated restaurant opening of late, the pork-obsessed gastro-funhouse from Marc Vetri and company boasts a menu of “grown-up bar food” that showcases the pig in many preparations, and 20 taps dedicated to craft beers from breweries in Italy as well as here at home. The restaurant occupies the former Wilkie auto showroom on North Broad Street and sits directly next door to Stephen Starr’s Route 6. The space features a dining room with enormous, glass airplane hangar doors, a private dining table perched atop the beer cooler, and another, even more exclusive table in the kitchen. We’re guessing a Monday debut means you may actually have chance of getting a seat in there tonight.
