Chelsea: In honor of her upcoming book Pie It Forward, pastry master-turned-author (and Sandra’s sister) Gesine Bullock-Prado will join Haven’s Kitchen for “The Pie Life” on April 3, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For $150, learn how to create a strawberry-love pie with decorative sides, sip on mimosas and nibble on mini pies, and catch the host for an autographed book afterward. Call 212-929-7900 or e-mail rachel@havenskitchen.com to register. [Grub Street]

Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi hosts The Varli Food Festival on April 5, featuring 60 Indian restaurants from the tri-state area. [Grub Street]

Hell’s Kitchen: Get Real Events isn’t shy about its upcoming event at 404 on April 7: “Beer n’ Balls,” full of macho munchies and, well, beer. Pair the creations of ten New York meatball experts like MexiQ with 40 craft beers from local breweries. Admission is $38 and buys you three hours of tasting in one of two sessions. [Grub Street]

Lower East Side: The high-end fare at Little Muenster (grilled cheese sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies) continues with the new “Super Fancy Happy Hour.” Get two-for-one Miller High Lifes and Coronas and $4 glasses of wine to pair with a cheese sammie, Tuesdays to Fridays, 4-7 p.m. [Grub Street]

Noho: The café in the Bowery Poetry Club is up and running again after Bowery Beef closed last summer. Andy Koszewski, who runs the shop, is brewing coffee (espresso to come later this week), chai lattes, and hot chocolate. Pastries from Ceci Cela Patisserie, salads from Choice Greens, and cookies from Salt of the Earth Bakery also to come; open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. [Local East Village]

Soho: The Terrace at the Crosby Bar reawakens April 1 with all day service — breakfast, lunch and dinner — for the warm season. Access from Lafayette Street or the Crosby Street Hotel lobby; open 7 days from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. [Grub Street]

Times Square: Ruby Foo’s is trying to block replacement by its new landlord, Fosterlane Management, at its 1626 Broadway digs. The Kuwaiti Investment Authority bought the 36-story office building that houses Ruby Foo’s last May, and now an April 3rd hearing on a New York Supreme Court request filed this month will decide if Ruby Foo’s can renew their lease there. [The Real Deal]

Williamsburg: Kinfolk Studios is adding another temp eatery, Yuji Ramen, to Frej, its new Nordic pop-up restaurant. The rotating menu features an array of noodle and seafood dishes. Frej is open Mon-Wed, and Yuji Ramen is open Thu-Sat. [Eater NY]
