Cookbook ghostwriters are generally overworked, underpaid, humiliated, demoralized, stood-up, and screwed-over, says Julia Moskin. Although some, like Julia Turshen, who's working on a second book with Gwyneth Paltrow, seem genuinely happy with the gig; and J.J. Goode, who wrote the raw and excitable A Girl and Her Pig, says it was "75 percent" like he was dating April Bloomfield which sounds ... at the very least ... interesting. [NYT]
