Finally, Matzoh Ice Cream Arrives for Passover

Hard to believe Ben and Jerry never thought of this

Last year, Tablet Magazine dreamed up a few Passover-appropriate ice cream flavors. This year, truth follows that fiction. Looking towards Passover next month, LA Creamery passes along word that it has developed two new ice cream flavors to celebrate the holiday. Co-founder Stephen Bikoff says the flavors are an attempt to kick typically boring Passover desserts up a notch. To that end, LA Creamery is selling pints, quarts, and gallon sizes of its milk chocolate ice cream with coconut macaroons and a vanilla bean ice cream filled with chocolate covered matzoh. The latter also carries a pinch of salt to meet its sweetness in that classically addictive combination we take to like freebase. The first chance to taste the new flavors will arrive on March 31 and April 1, when LA Creamery will take over Vicente Foods in Brentwood from 1:00-5:00 P.M., aided by a crew of “L.A. Creamery girls” to offer free samples. Following that, you can score the new scoops at Farmshop.
