Temporary Closings

What Could a Reincarnated Palate Food + Wine Possibly Need?

So many chefs are taking the purified market approach these days that it just may be draining the stamina from some of the cuisine’s celebrated local standard-bearers. Eater announces that Glendale’s critical darling, Palate Food + Wine, suddenly closed up shop on Friday for some sort of reboot, though we’re hard-pressed to think of anything chef Octavio Becerra could improve on.

Apparently, signage on the door reads that the restaurant “will be temporarily closed for re-organization” and has high hopes for its “reincarnation.” It’s hard to believe the concept or execution could be at fault for the shutter here, so we’re wondering what could actually bring Palate back to the forefront of the city’s raging appetite. Let us know if you see any possible room for future improvement (Cheaper menu options? A more central location?) at Palate in our comments, while we cross our fingers for the restaurant to live on as promised. [Eater]
