Waldorf Astoria Now Home to Bumblebees and Babydolls

Hope a Waldorf salad tastes good doused in honey, because the hotel has launched an initiative to raise honeybees starting with 45,000, and aiming for 300,000 by the end of the summer. Under the Waldorf Astoria's director of culinary operations, David Garcelon, a team is installing six beehives in a rooftop space on the twentieth floor, along with a chef's garden. Considering everything else that goes on in the glitzy den of decadence, there could definitely be worse sticky situations. [Crains]
