Four people have been indicated for selling 100,000 pounds of cheese contaminated with Salmonella. WLS reports “they even ‘washed’ cheese that was returned by customers by scraping off mold and fungus, then resold it.”

A Wisconsin company distributed the cheese to retail stores in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Georgia and Texas under the brand name Queso Cincho De Guerrero. All four face charges of conspiracy to violate the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act for their interstate commerce in adulterated cheese, as well as three counts of violating food safety law.
