Saffron, sometimes called the Chipotle of Indian food for its quick-and-easy approach (the difference being we’d actually eat at Saffron), is destined next for Crenshaw Plaza in Baldwin Hills. The restaurant will open this Saturday, April 14, touting the same menu of Subcontinental standards from Bhupender Singh, a chef from Delhi’s esteemed Bukhara restaurant. This marks the chain’s third L.A. location and another positive development for the South Central mall, which took a major shot in the arm with the recent opening of Govind Armstrong and Brad Johnson’s highly praised Post & Beam last winter. Saffron’s opening takes place at 10:00 A.M. this Saturday, with free food samples and a performance by Crenshaw Christian Center at 3650 West Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Baldwin Hills.
