Back in March we told you that Tocqueville and Jean-Georges vet Greg Vernick was gearing up to launch his first solo effort, Vernick Food and Drink, near 20th and Walnut streets sometime this spring. Today we received word from Vernick’s reps that he’s ready to make his debut on Tuesday, May 1. The bi-level restaurant will sport a look that marries a modern industrial vibe with rustic sensibilities. At the 10-seat, slate and stained concrete bar Vernick will put forth housemade sodas, cocktails, local and craft beers (draft and bottles), plus an affordably priced selection of wines by the glass. Menu highlights include fromage blanc and ramps on toast; oysters and other raw offerings; wood-roasted eggplant with hazelnuts; braised beef cheeks with spring beans, celery and herb salad; and a daily changing whole roasted Atlantic fish. Keep reading to peep the entire menu.
