Congratulations to two of our top food writers, who both saw their names in connection with awards yesterday. Jeff Ruby, restaurant reviewer and food writer for Chicago magazine, won a City and Regional Magazine Award for Food or Dining Writing, for his reviews of L2O, Ing and Next’s Paris 1906. And at the Association of Alternative Newsmedia, Mike Sula of the Chicago Reader was nominated for Food Writing/Circulation 50,000 and over for his reviews of Next, The Pump Room and Michael Jordan’s Steak House. (The Reader got five nominations across all categories.) We’d run a picture of somebody, but both of our local award-worthies attempt to dine anonymously.
