What to Drink at SHOREbar, Grand-Open on Friday in Santa Monica

This Friday, that slim little Santa Monica street stretching to the sea known as Channel Road will see the grand-opening of SHOREbar, a new project that schizophrenically cites both Nantucket and the nearby Jonathan Club as influences. We’re guessing this means its beachy like slat wood, poolside beverage service, and Docksiders but not beachy like cigarette butts in the sand, broken flip-flops, and sand-bagged beers. The tiny new lounge of seven booths, each named after surf city assets like “Santa Barbara Harbour” and “Malibu Coastline,” is helmed by H.Wood Group’s John Terzian and features a mighty range of cocktails centered on classics, shrubs, sours, and aromatics from Copa D’Oro’s Vincenzo Marianella.

This new neighbor to Giorgio Baldi and Hungry Cat counts such tasteful appointments as vintage maps of coastal coves on the walls and old-timey photos of beach activities and continuing the elite beach-club vibe, a members-only den is upstairs with food delivery from nearby restaurants (hopefully Baldi devotee Rihanna is on top of this).
