A couple of fresh Oakland bits for you: First off, co-owner of The Trappist beer bar in Old Oakland Chuck Stilphen tells Diablo that he’s expanding to a second location which will be called Trappist Provisions at 6309 College Avenue in Rockridge. It’ll be a fairly small bottle shop with five to ten beers on tap, similar to Stilphen’s ØL Beercafe & Bottle Shop in Walnut Creek, and it’s just a few doors down from Wood Tavern. This news comes just as we heard this week that Beer Revolution was expanding in Oakland as well. [Diablo]

Secondly, the owner of Actual Café at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and Alcatraz in North Oakland is looking to expand next door with Victory Burger. Owner Sal Bednarz tells Oakland North that he wants Victory Burger to be “a casual experience where you can still get a really good burger” and “more like a food truck without wheels” but with plenty of outdoor seating. He’s started a Kickstarter campaign to put together $25,000 over the next month, so look for this maybe to open by late summer? [Oakland North]
