Even the most cynical New Yorker can’t deny a sense of excitement around the transformation of the dodgy Metro Theater on West 100th to the electric Alamo Drafthouse, a concept originated in Austin and currently being brought to Manhattan. As for the food, generally moviegoers will order before start time, but “if you want something during the movie it’s a non-verbal interaction … you raise that piece of paper up like a flag in front of your table.” Expect movie-themed menus, and maybe some Woody Allen and Duck Soup.
