Temporary Closings

Bistro Lamazou Has Closed for Renovations

With all the hubbub and pyrotechnics of last week, we failed to notice that one-year-old Bistro Lamazou had dimmed its lights and locked the doors sometime during the last two weeks. Neighborhood blogger pcvstBee noticed the shutter, prompting a comment that nearby Cavatappo Wine Bar also closed recently, and that in general it’s hard out there for Gramercy restaurants. There’s hope for Aziz and Nancy Lamazou’s cheese-centric restaurant yet, however: Both the blog and the restaurant’s Facebook page report it’ll reopen next month after renovations and retooling. So, no North African tapas or impromptu belly dancers — but just for a month. Stuy Town residents just can’t catch a break. [pcvstBee]
