“The doughnut is the last frontier,” says West Coast entrepreneur Micah Camden, explaining his plans to open an ambitious new doughnut shop there in the fall. Camden is said to have looked to New York’s Doughnut Plant and Dough for inspiration; both of those shops graced the top of the “10 Best” list last week at the Voice. Meanwhile, Seattle’s Top Pot Doughnuts may soon open in midtown, and today, Crain’s devotes its cover story to the “latest food craze sweeping the city.” It notes Doughnut Plant will soon open a third shop “in the Grand Central Terminal neighborhood.” [FiTR/VV, Crain’s]
