Never underestimate the ignorance of people: The owner of Chick-Felays, a four-restaurant mini-chain based in Canada, was surprised when customers started coming into his restaurants, alternatively praising and denouncing his stance on gay marriage. “I didn’t have any idea what they were talking about,” founder and CEO Nabeel Khan told the Wall Street Journal. When someone told Khan about the controversy surrounding that other Chick-fil-A, he was still confused: “How can they mistake us, when it’s a completely different logo, different colors, different menu, different name?” (Well, to be fair, the name isn’t totally different, but Khan’s right that everything else is different about his spot, including his thoughts on mixing business and personal views: “I am in the hospitality trade, not politics.” [WSJ via Time]
