New York State Is Yogurt Central for PepsiCo

If it seems like every other restaurant that opens these days specializes in yogurt, of all things, get used to it: Americans’ consumption of the food is expected to more than double in the next decade. And it turns out PepsiCo’s move into the fermented-dairy biz is landing on New York home turf. As the Democrat and Chronicle reports, Governor Cuomo was present at the construction celebrations of the brand’s plant in Batavia, upstate, yesterday (Pepsi has teamed with German brand Theo Muller to create its Euro-style yogurt); the factory should be running by next year.
