Stick with us here: Cultural organization 3rd Ward is negotiating a twenty-year lease to operate an educational center and incubator for small food businesses at the former Studebaker Service Station at 1000 Dean Street in Crown Heights, reports the Real Deal. The building is owned by Jonathan Butler, the Brownstoner.com founder and Brooklyn Flea co-creator. 3rd Ward got a $1.5 million boost earlier this year in the form of a grant from the NYC Economic Development Corporation. It's basically a giant space equipped to help potential food business owners come in and get their projects off the ground. And this incubator joins another "massive culinary center" underway in the 660,000-square-foot former Pfizer plant in Williamsburg. Looks like the twee party is about ready to move onto its own industrial revolution. [The Real Deal, Earlier]
