DeKalb Market Will Go Out With a Pig Roast

A pig roast is not a bad way to end things.

The last day of DeKalb Market sadly, it's Sunday will be filled with the smell of roasting pig and the sounds of live music. As you'll recall, the shipping-container bazaar is being ousted (prematurely, some say) to make way for retail and residential development. To send itself off, Maharlika is offering a Filippino-style pig-roast plate for $30; there's live music from Monogold, Dinowalrus, and Sinkane; games of ping-pong; and a bouncy castle for kids. Last we'd heard, DeKalb was seeking new digs more on that as it shapes up. [Earlier]
