McDonald’s will take a break from chopping down rain forests for ranch land to open its first-ever vegetarian restaurant in Amritsar, India, near that city’s holy Golden Temple, BBC writes. The restaurant may even bring together Indians of different religions, as “[both] India’s Hindu majority and Muslims can eat the same meat-free dishes.” Aww: peace, love, and veggie burgers. Another veggie outlet is planned for Kashmir near the Vaishno Devi cave shrine. And after that, next stop Berkeley? [BBC]
