• Fed up with nightlife and overcrowding around Rivington? • From October 5 to 7, Jimmy’s No. 43 will pour from authentic German cask ales, which are unfiltered, unpasteurized, and poured from casks that forgo any extra carbon-dioxide pressure. • For West Villagers and those who find themselves in the neighborhood, Perilla will offer German fare (beet salad, bratwurst, schnitzel, German chocolate cake) paired with German beers every Monday night in October. [Grub Street]

• The fusion fiends at DohYo also jump in on the German holiday, October 3 to 9. (After all, who are we to police holiday appropriation?) Try a New York-style pretzel with miso mustard and chipotle mayo, or kimchee empanadas with Asian sweet sausage, and pair them with a number of Japanese beers. [Grub Street]
